The American Dream: Life could be better, richer, fuller for everyone, with the will and power and opportunity and ability.

“The American Dream” is from 1931 traced to James Truslow Adams during the tumultuous Great Depression.

I’ve proudly served my country in the United States Air Force stateside as well as in Afghanistan during both OIF and OEF.  Now it’s time for me to LIVE and “Live My Best Life” by creating opportunities through hard work, dedication and a committed effort. 

I’ve spent the better portion of my civilian life working for others to meet the needs that every man must meet in order to survive; pay my bills, keep a roof over our heads and food on our table, but that’s exactly what it came down to…surviving.  Ending each day putting my head on the pillow unsatisfied dreaming of a better life for me and my family.

I’d come home to my beautiful, supportive wife and our three 4-year-old children disillusioned and unsatisfied wearing a smile for these four amazing souls that was not genuine and insincere.

My wife had had enough, while sitting around the fire one crisp evening she took a stand, “that’s it, put in your 2-weeks’ notice and go for your dream, open the dream, open the damn cigar lounge like you’ve been dreaming!!”  I’m sure my response was written all over my face “has she lost her mind, we have 4-year-old triplets, a house 2 cars, and bills, bills, and more bills?” She confidently looked at me “we’ll make it work, we always do, we can’t continue with you coming home miserable, the kids are starting to notice.”

The dream began to become a reality within the following month.  I hesitantly tendered my resignation and we became a single income household.  To say I was nervous is an understatement, it all felt slightly insane, with my entire family’s support we set out to develop our business plan. 

JUST THE TIP CIGARS is the greatest adventure of my professional life! The “AMERICAN DREAM”, my business, my cigar lounge and most importantly my legacy. The place where family, friends and fellow dreamers will gather to enjoy a fine cigar, share laughs, make memories and perhaps endeavor to make their dreams come true just as I have had the opportunity.

A cigar lounge where people can come to learn about cigars and find new notes they didn’t know they liked. I want to teach people about cigars and I want to learn from people about cigars. This is my American Dream and I hope that you can come sit and have a stick with me in “My soon to be fine establishment JUST THE TIP CIGARS.”
